Fall So Far...

It's hard to believe it's November already and Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away!  Where has the time gone??  We've had a very busy and fun fall!

In early fall, while the weather was still warm, we took trips to Parky's Farm, including one trip with Lily's cousin Kate.  We also made it to the Cincinnati Zoo a few times--once with Lily's friends, Leah and Max, and once with Mamaw Stehlin, cousin Ben, Aunt Heather and Kate.  We also visited lots of parks nearby our house so Lily could do her favorite things: swing and slide (for hours, if we let her!).

Lily turned two on October 6th, and she "helped" me make cupcakes for the big day.  They were the funfetti kind because when I would ask her what kind she wanted, she would always say, "Colors, Mommy!".  We had her birthday party a few weeks later when Mamaw and Papaw Printz were able to make it to town.  Luckily we had a beautiful, warm and sunny day so we could all be on our deck.  Lily was a very busy girl and had a great time!!

During October, we took a trip to the pumpkin patch at Brown's Market in Ross with Mamaw and Papaw Stehlin.  Lily had a great time loading "puntins" into a little truck.  She also loved playing in the little house they had and petting the pony.

On the Saturday of Halloween weekend, we took a trip down to Findlay Market--very cool!  Our trip was brief, since Lily was having a typical two-year-old moment and was not being very cooperative.  These moments seem to be happening more frequently lately ;)  We took the food we bought to Aunt Tracy and Uncle Brian's house, and JJ made us a delicious dinner--pork roast with fingerling potatoes and butternut squash!  Aunt Tracy had a surprise dessert for us--Graeter's ice cream (my mouth is watering just remembering it!).

We went back to Aunt Tracy's house for Halloween night on Sunday.  Lily was supposed to be Minnie Mouse, but when I put on the costume I bought for her, she had a fit (another two-year-old moment!) because the arms were scratchy.  Luckily Jay's parents had given her the cutest German dress (from their trip to Munich!), so she wore that instead.  She LOVED trick-or-treating--she couldn't believe that every house was going to give her candy.  She kept saying "Go to the next house, Mom!"  She was also very good at saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" each time.  We all had a good time hanging out with the private drive crowd in the cul-de-sac with the fire pit :)

                                                                     Happy Halloween!

So this is the first weekend in a long time that we have had absolutely nothing planned...and it feels nice!  Although, this is the first weekend that the weather is finally cold and it definitely feels like winter is here now.  Even though I hate being cold, I guess I need to feel it sometimes in order to appreciate warmer weather in the spring  and summer :)  I do love the holidays, so I'm looking forward to the next two months--especially seeing some of our family that we don't get to see very often!  I think Christmas will be especially fun with Lily this year--can't wait!  It will be here before we know it, since the decorations are already out in the stores!  We'll see how Lily likes Santa this year...
